This was a busy weekend for homebody me. I had a kajillion meetings on Friday morning, then a field trip with A's class, then lots of cleaning and organizing until late.
Saturday I cleaned and organized more, then Jason and I had a babysitter from the neighborhood come over, and we got coffee. It was dreamy. THEN I went out for drinks with a neighbor!
Today I was all patient with the kids, and then I went grocery shopping.
And if you think I could do all that and NOT be totally wiped out by now, then you don't know me. And if you don't know me by now, you will never never never know me. Wooo, ooo, oo.
I am such an introvert. Wow. Even when I'm having a great time with people, I have this reaction within 24-48 hours. I feel so exhausted I can barely function. My eyes start falling shut. My body aches. I am fussy and emotional, like Haney when I take away her baba.
All this to say that I am one phone call away from slipping into a coma, so I'll check you later.

When it comes to children and pets, I can be extremely patient, and I
confess to being rather proud of this trait. A lot of people tire of my
daughter M’s ...

Yeah, i get that too. I crave people time but after a certain limit is reached I start to shut down and get claustrophobic if I can't get away by myself.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun!!!
Ooo I can so relate. After too many people, I get overwhelmed and anxious, and my ability to actually carry on a conversation starts to diminish. I think my ears actually start buzzing.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I am the exact same way. I would be much happier if I could stay home and never have to face people!!! I am like a little kid, need my down time. this week is going to be pure hell for me and I am already getting fussy and nervous. AURGH!
ReplyDeleteGlad you and Jason got a sitter so you could go get coffee. It's like being newlyweds again!!!
Just rest. That's what my mom always says. "Just rest, honey, even if you can't sleep." xo.
ReplyDeleteYes. Rest is good. Glad you got out.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one. I have to hoard sleep before and after any such productivity. I worked all weekend on cleaning the funk, literally and figuratively, and I know by tomorrow, I'll be a useless husk of a human until I get 13 uninterrupted hours of sleep.
ReplyDeleteRest up!
