Since A took ill on Monday, the week has been a rollercoaster of fevers [up] and vomit [down and around]. It is much like the January sickness, except they are not nearly as ill and I have another parent around for about half the day.
A came home sick on Monday afternoon, was very sick Monday evening and Tuesday, and by last night she was doing much better but both the boys were up vomiting most of the night, or crying because their fevers are so high they have headaches. (They are throwing up their medicine, which is why their fevers are uncontrolled. A throws up when forced to take medicine, as well. I am seeing a theme here; a theme that does not bode well for my next decade.)
Today P slept/puked/cried all day until about 7, when he perked up and started acting like he was on crack (another trademark symptom of illness for him). G seems to have recovered after puking it out of his system all night, so he spent the day being bored and trying to pester P into waking up and playing with him. We made cupcakes. He frosted them. He ran out of frosting after only 17 cupcakes. He dumped an entire bottle of sprinkles on one cupcake, but that one was for P's teddy bear, who is named Michael.
Jane has a fever but nothing is bringing it down, not even dangerously high doses of Dora. Today she cried. That was mostly all she did, although she was distracted by the sprinkles spill during the cupcake debacle this afternoon. That girl loves sprinkles.
Tomorrow is Friday, my babysitter is coming, I'll have a lunch date with Jason, and I'll tackle all the Mother's Day tasks I've let slide this week.
(Also, good riddance, Grey's Anatomy. I will not miss you tugging on my heart strings every Thursday night.)

When it comes to children and pets, I can be extremely patient, and I
confess to being rather proud of this trait. A lot of people tire of my
daughter M’s ...

Wait. What? Grey's? Gone? What?
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry about the kids being sick....again. Those poor little things...
oh man. i'm afraid to even say the word (whispering: vomit) in fear it will mean it's coming to this house. having ALL of them sick like that would do me in. officially.
ReplyDeletei hope you and J don't get it!
i need to call you when the little people are well so we can catch up...
Oh no. I will admit, I don't handle the kids being sick well at all. Just thinking about it brings on the panic attacks. Kids! Hurry! Get well soon! I think those cards should say: "Get well NOW!" instead of "soon." Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone feels better soon...
ReplyDeleteI hope they are all up and about soon. Up and about and super quiet because they are still recovering, but no longer vomiting. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou have 1 more week of Grey's, girl...next week is the 2 hour season finale!! Don't tell me you're not going to watch...they pull you in!!
ReplyDeleteI thought last night was the finale too, untill I say the preview at the end. Couldn't leave well enough alone. Must have a cliff hanger. And I hate Vomit!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the sickies, too. Hope you have a nice date lunch and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! Thanks for your words of encouragement on my blog, I really needed to hear that.
ReplyDeleteStay well!!!!
