just taking a quick break from my new pastime to say hello

I have a new hobby, and that is running around the house after the cats in parachute pants.

Technically I don't think they're really parachute pants, but they're nylon "track" pants. Except I never go to a track. I believe they are from Old Navy's spring 1999 collection, if that helps you place them.

Anyway, today I discovered that the cats are afraid of my pants, making these the best pants ever. I zip along and cats scatter before me, fearful that the sound of my pants heralds the arrival of an army of snakes. Or someone operating a handsaw while running.

This is perfect for me because today is National Chocolate Sale day and I am training for serious chocolate consumption. How do I do this? I build up insulin levels in my bloodstream by eating all my children's candy. If I can save them from diabetes by eating all the sugary snacks in the house, then so be it.

  4. I've done that. It's way fun.

OMG I can't believe I missed the post-v-day candy sales! And I really need it today too! Damn.

  5. The prices didn't drop enough yet. $6 for a dinky box of Valentine Godiva? I think not!

Here we have mandatory tastings. Heaven forbid my child eat a poison chocolate when I could have warned them of the danger!!! Also, I am acutely aware of the coconut truffles in my purse that I mean to save for their lunches on Wednesday.

  6. I just have to say that I think this is one of your funnier posts. I laughed picturing you running around in loud pants, and getting your body ready for chocolate.

    Priceless. Jeri

  7. I'm wondering if these pants would work on my beagle. I so want to try.
