where i look forward to getting away from it all

I'm so excited today, blogworld, because tonight we're going camping! In our friends' backyard!!!

No, they don't live on a large wooded lot in the middle of nowhere. They live in a busy suburban neighborhood. But there's a splash pad in a park that's right adjacent to their yard, so I'm thinking "shower." And they have a fire pit on their patio, plus they have a play structure, which = playground for the kids. It has all the amenities.

When we invited ourselves to camp in their backyard they didn't say no. In fact, they said, "What?... Well... yeah, I guess..." I think they're as excited as we are. The wife already said she's sleeping inside and that we had better bring a lot of alcohol. She probably doesn't want me to be intimidated by what a die-hard camper she is.
